Independent Living For Seniors has an internal transportation department that provides all the transportation needs for our participants which relate to their individual care plans. We not only transport to/from the day center but we also work in conjunction with our scheduling department to provide transportation needs to/from doctor appointments. Transportation works with the recreation department to provide transportation needs for chartered events such as luncheons at various restaurants and seasonal trips (i.e., Christmas decorations, fall foliage).

ILS has a fleet of 16 vehicles and has implemented a process of updating the fleet with newer vehicles and more state of the art equipment. ILS has 20 drivers with special NYS licenses that go through an extensive screening process prior to hire and a detailed training program to insure that each driver will meet our standards of providing friendly and safe transportation needs to all our participants.
